CHINESE NUNCHUKS - 雙節棍
Yie Chie Gwan or better known in the West under the name "Nunchaku" is considered by many as a separate Japanese weapon style. This is of course far from true ... actually the Yie Chie Gwan (Nunchuks) was originated in China and from there spread out to Okinawa (Japan). This weapon can be found in the traditional Chinese Yie Chie Gwan weapon system which consists of 5 categories:
1. 長 小 棒 long small pole
2. 二 節 棒 two section bat
3. 三 節 棍 three section stick
4. 雙 節 棍 double section stick
5. 二 節 棍 two section stick
In Chinese kung fu circles, it is said that a dignified master has the complete knowledge and not just a part of it. As our grandmaster always says, "there is a huge difference between using foam or fire Yie Chie Gwan..."
Sifu Yip Wai-Lam is the one and only who eventually was given the final decision in this art by the "Chinese European Kung Fu Nunchaku Federation" to expand this unkown Chinese fighting system in Belgium.
